One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch

I read this book 2 years back and yes, it’s one of the simplest yet effective books I have read so far.

Peter Lynch was the fund manager at Magellan Fund from 1977-90 and in those 13 years, he gave an average compounded return of whopping 29%. It then becomes an excuse to find out what this man has penned down in his books.

He gives out the ways by which an average investor can beat the highly qualified and professionals in their own game by common sense investing. And he also recommends to ignore the guys out there at CNBC who just come up to put up the show and don’t know anything about the markets.

Focus on the business and invest what you understand in your circle of competence.

I really recommend this book to anyone who is starting out with his investing journey.
